The Skills library is a collection of ready-made skills maintained by Generate. Browsing the library is the fastest way to add expertise without writing any instructions yourself.

Opening the Library

From the “Manage Skills” modal, click “Browse” to open the “Skills library”. You’ll see a grid of cards, each representing a ready-made skill.
Skills library card grid
Each card shows:
  • A /skill-id — the skill’s slug
  • A category label
  • A short description
  • An “Add” or “Remove” button
In the library, “Add” enables the skill for you and “Remove” disables it. Library skills can’t be shared with other people.

Finding a Skill

1

Filter by category

Use the category pills at the top — including “All” with counts — to narrow the grid to one category.
2

Search

Type in “Search library skills…” to match on name or description.
3

Sort

Reorder the grid with Sort: “Name A-Z”, “Name Z-A”, or “Recently added”.

Viewing a Skill’s Details

Click any card to open its detail view. Here you can review the skill before enabling it:
  • Description — a summary of what the skill does
  • Instructions — rendered from the skill’s SKILL.md
  • File tree — the files bundled with the skill, if any

Enabling a Library Skill

Click “Add” on the card (or in the detail view) to enable the skill. It then appears under “Your skills” in Manage Skills and becomes available to attach in chats, projects, and agents. Click “Remove” any time to disable it again.
Enabling a skill makes it available to attach — it doesn’t automatically apply to every conversation. See Using skills to attach it where you need it.
