Generative UI (or “GenUI”) lets agents build interactive interfaces on the fly — dashboards, charts, diagrams, forms, and tables that appear directly in your conversation. Rather than describing data in text, an agent can show it to you in a form you can explore.

How It Works

1

Ask for something visual

Ask an agent to chart, summarize, or lay out your data — for example, “Show me last quarter’s sales as a dashboard.”
2

A card appears in chat

The agent renders the result as a clickable card inline in the conversation.
3

Open the panel

Click the card to open it in the Artifacts panel, where you can interact with, zoom, and export it.

The Four Kinds

The panel’s controls and export options change based on the kind of interface the agent rendered:
KindWhat it isControlsExport
VisualChart or diagramZoom and pan, plus fullscreenImage (SVG / PNG / JPG)
TabularData tableFullscreenCSV / TSV
InteractiveForm, quiz, or wizardFullscreenHTML
ContentGalleries, cards, or textFullscreenHTML snapshot

Panel Controls

  • Copy — For charts, copies the view as an image; for tables, copies the data as TSV.
  • Zoom and pan — Charts and diagrams get bottom zoom controls to inspect detail.
  • Fullscreen — The floating button expands any view; press Esc to exit.
  • Download — Opens a menu with the formats available for that kind (see the table above).
Some custom, sandboxed components can’t be exported. When that’s the case you’ll see: “Interactive components can’t be exported — view them in the app.”
Because GenUI is page-context aware, you can ask a follow-up like “break this down by region” and the agent will update the view without you starting over.
