Agents can generate real, downloadable documents from a plain-language request. Ask for a slide deck, a report, or a spreadsheet and the agent produces a finished file that appears right in your conversation.

Generating a Document

1

Ask in natural language

Tell the agent what you want — for example, “Make a PowerPoint summarizing this report” or “Write a Word doc of the meeting notes.”
2

The agent builds the file

A backend skill produces the document. When it’s ready, it appears in chat as a file card with a faithful thumbnail preview.
3

Open, download, or export it

Click the card to open the Artifacts panel with an in-app preview, or use the buttons on the card.

Supported File Types

Document generation supports docx, pptx, xlsx / xls / xlsb, pdf, html, md, images, and video.

In-App Preview

Click a file card to open it in the Artifacts panel. The preview adapts to the file type:
  • Word (docx) — Paginated, with a “Page N of M” indicator.
  • PowerPoint (pptx) — Shown slide by slide, with a “Slide N of M” indicator.
  • Excel (xlsx) — A table with sheet tabs (capped at roughly 200 rows; a note reads “Showing 200 of X rows. Download for full data.”).
  • Other types — A “Download to view” fallback.

Download and Open in Google

Every file card has a Download button. For pptx, docx, and xlsx files, there’s also an Open in Google button that imports the file into Google Slides, Docs, or Sheets.
Open in Google requires the matching Google connector. If it isn’t connected, the button is disabled and its tooltip reads “Connect to open this file” (for example, “Connect Google Slides to open this file”).
