You can export any agent as a JSON file to back it up, share it outside the platform, or import it into another Generate instance.

Exporting an Agent

Open the agent's action menu

Click the more options menu (three dots) on the agent card or detail page.

Select 'Export'

The agent’s configuration is downloaded as a .json file.

The exported file includes:
  • Agent name and description
  • System instructions
  • Tool configuration
  • Knowledge base references
  • All settings

Importing an Agent

Go to Agents and click 'Create New Agent'

Select 'Import from JSON'

Choose the JSON file you previously exported (or received from someone else).

Review and save

Review the imported configuration, make any adjustments, and save.

Duplicating an Agent

For a quick copy within the same instance, use the Make a Copy action instead of export/import. This creates an identical copy instantly.
