The GitHub connector links your GitHub account to Generate so you can search across code, issues, and pull requests and pull repository content into your conversations as a source.

  • Search code — Find functions, files, and snippets across your repositories
  • Track issues and PRs — Look up issues and pull requests and summarize their status
  • Read repository content — Use READMEs, docs, and source files as context for answers

Connecting GitHub

Open the Connectors modal

Open Connectors and select the Apps tab. See Setting Up a Connector for the generic mechanics.

Find GitHub and click Connect

Locate GitHub in the connector catalog and click Connect.

Enter your personal access token (PAT)

Paste a GitHub personal access token scoped to the repositories you want Generate to reach.

Confirm the connection

Save and verify the connector shows as Connected.
The repositories, issues, and pull requests available in Generate depend on the scopes and repository access granted to your personal access token.
