Backup & restore is an administrator-only feature, powered by NetApp. Open Admin Settings → Data Protection → Backup & restore.
The page title reads “Backup & restore” with the subtitle “Manage policies, snapshots and restore operations.” Three category pills organize the page: Dashboard, Policies, and Snapshots.

Dashboard

The Dashboard pill gives an at-a-glance view of data protection:
  • Storage status, Total snapshots, Storage used, and Last backup
  • Data category health
  • Two tabs within the Dashboard: Replication (SnapMirror) and Recent activity

Policies

The Policies pill lists your backup policies with their Schedule, Retention, Last run, and an enable/disable toggle. Use Search, Sort (by name, schedule, or last run), and Filter (by status or schedule type) to find a policy in a long list.
1

Open the policy modal

Create a new policy, or edit an existing one to open the Create/Edit policy modal.
2

Name the policy

Enter a Policy name and optional Description.
3

Set the schedule

Choose Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or a Custom cron expression.
4

Set retention

Pick a Retention type — By count or By age — and a Keep value. Optionally set an RPO target in hours.

Snapshots

The Snapshots pill provides search, a Filter (by Status and Triggered by), and Sort. The table lists Snapshot name, Status, Triggered by, Size, and Created. Each row’s menu offers Restore and Delete — Restore is available only when the snapshot is completed. To create a snapshot on demand, use the Create backup modal, which accepts an optional description and notes that “Running indexing jobs will be briefly paused.”

Restoring a Snapshot

A full system restore is destructive. All data written after the snapshot was taken will be permanently lost.
1

Start the restore

From a completed snapshot’s row menu, choose Restore to open the two-step Confirm → Restore modal. The restore type is Full system restore.
2

Confirm the impact

Read the red warning and tick the required “I understand the impact…” checkbox, then click Start restore.
3

Wait for completion

A live progress bar shows the percentage complete and polls every 2 seconds. The app reloads automatically when the restore finishes.
