API keys let external systems call into Generate to trigger workflows and chat agents. Open Settings → API Keys. The heading reads “API Keys” with the subtitle “Manage API keys used to trigger workflows from external systems.”

The API Keys Table

Each key appears in a table with these columns:
  • Name — a label you choose
  • Prefix — a masked portion of the key
  • Scope — badges showing the feature scopes the key can reach
  • Last used — when the key was last called
  • Status — Active or Revoked
  • Actions — manage the key
Feature scopes are Chat agents and Workflows; a new key defaults to all scopes.

Creating a Key

1

Click Create key

Select Create key to open the Create/Edit modal.
2

Name the key

Enter a descriptive Name, such as “Production CRM bot”.
3

Choose capabilities

Tick the Capabilities checkboxes for the scopes this key needs. A note explains: “This key will be authorized on every workflow you own and every workflow shared with you.”
4

Save your key

The token is revealed once, under “Save your API key.” Copy and store it securely — you cannot view it again.
The full token is shown only at creation. If you lose it, revoke the key and create a new one.

Revoking a Key

Revoke a key to immediately cut off any external caller using it. Generate warns: “Revoking '' immediately disables every external caller using this key. This cannot be undone.”
No code snippets are shown in this screen. To build the request itself — headers, endpoints, and payloads for triggering an agent over HTTP — see Agent API access, which is a different surface from these account-level keys.
